at some point, some person, unbeknownst to me, came to my front door with some SUPER crazy black stuff on their shoes, and left footprints and black scuffs all over the front porch. i hadn't noticed it until my sweet cleaning lady pointed it out to me and said that she would scrub it off that day. i thought, "she's the best!" and didn't think about it again.
until the next time i answered my front door. and there, embarrassingly, it was. i decided she must have run out of time that day. which, i have NO idea how that's possible because my house is SO clean already when she gets here. i'm sure she has LOTS of leftover time every week! so i took to the task one evening myself.
that's when i found out that she probably DID try to clean it off. because: first i just tried to sweep it off. then i tried to hose it off. then i poured dishsoap on it and destroyed my mop scrubbing it. then i poured bleached and left it overnite. nothing. to this day the yucky black footprints are still there. what's a girl to do??
all the while i was doing this, i had a cute little audience. in between my working out cleaning, i'd look up and see this little trio inspecting the progress. or lack of. because levi and gracie were unplanned-matching i decided i needed to photograph the moment. so i trapsed through my house with my wet, soapy flip flops in search of my camera.
the minute gracie saw me with a camera, she struck a pose. and levi, not to be outdone by gracie, joined in. i never said a word. piper, originally completely enthralled in her gogurt, saw the "show" and got jealous. (more about the world's MOST jealous girl, pickles stewart, another day).
these are the cutest children aren't they. good catch on the porch!
