tonite on the way home from swim lessons levi was in the third row pretending he was on a roller coaster. he tried to convince gracie to pretend with him. gracie was in the second row getting totally bugged by the whole thing:
levi: "whooooooaaaa! whooooooooaaa! racie, i'm on a roller coaster. do you want to get on it with me?"
.... ..... ....
levi: "whooooooaaaa! this is a crazy roller coaster racie! whoooooooaaaaa!"
gracie: "i don't want to do that levi"
levi: "whoa!whoa!whoa!" [some engine noises and a couple crashing noises.]
i guess he's too naive to worry that his roller coaster is crashing.....
gracie: "stop doing that levi. i don't want to do that."
levi: "whoa! [more crashing] whoa!"
gracie: "leevi! stop saying that! i'm not pretending that!"
levi: now with increasing intensity, "WHOA!WHOAH!WHOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAH!!"
gracie: "LEEEEEEEEEVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!"
me: "gracie, let's not yell at eachother"
gracie: "but i don't like levi saying that! i don't want to be on a roller coaster!"
me: "i understand. but we can't decide what everyone pretends. how about gracie takes care of gracie, and levi can take care of levi? (the new #1 life skill we are trying to convince these two of...) does that sound like a good idea?"
gracie: "sure!"
30 seconds of silence
levi: scream-bawling, "lkdjflgjorwigjlk kgjoijugfoigfldnkljhgowehgkjnjhouh"
me: "levi! what's wrong???"
levi: "lsdkjfldjf lkjflskdjfowdldkf kdfjs self....."
me: "are you hurt??!!"
levi: "i dlkdsjflkjodkd lkjdfi self...."
me: "levi, i can't understand you when you're crying. if you want me to help you, you need to calm down and talk to me."
levi: "i dooon't waaannt to take caare of myselffff....."
aaaaahhhh....i hope these two always live close by eachother. at least through elementary and junior high. i need gracie to protect my delicate little lamb....
