It was 9:05 this morning, and I'd already had 12 texts, 4 accepted calls, and 2 missed calls. plus a request for more printer paper. and my fantasy about my "day off" had slowly, resistantly, but finally, died.
i guess the universe doesn't read my blog.
which is sort of a relief. i've been haunted by the suspicion that the universe DOES read my blog. because ever since i wrote that levi is obsessed with cleaning, he hasn't wanted to lift a pinkie finger. seriously.
we've even been fighting about cleaning and we only fight 2% of the time. and of that 2%, 0% has ever been about cleaning. (1.5% of the fights are about clothes and his constant desire for "fancyness", the other.5% about going to primary)
speaking of "fancyness" how was that italics usage for one of my tangents? i think i'll keep doing that. but only until it ends up that my entire posts are in italics. and then.... then... then what?
then i guess i'll just retitle this blog: totally tangents. or something more clever. i still have some time to muse about that one. and now i'm wondering if i should still, technically, be typing in italics. end crazy talk here-----
luckily, it was a "normal" day at work. AND we had a vendor bring in red velvet cafe. !!!, right? if you live in las vegas, i'm SURE you already know about red velvet cafe. if you don't, you HAVE to find it next time you're here. it's this crazy, mysterious restaurant that makes all vegan and vegetarian food, but makes your tongue and tummy think you're eating the naughtiest meals possible. because they're just too too TOO good to also be healthy. i sometimes still can't believe my good fortune for having red velvet cafe in my life.
yeah, i just said that: i sometimes still can't believe my good fortune for having red velvet cafe in my life.
think that's too dramatic? try their WHOLE CAKES THAT ARE ONLY 150 CALORIES WITH - YES WITH - FROSTING. and then we'll talk dramatics.
and now i'm rethinking my whole "the universe doesn't read my blog" theory. because maybe it does read my blog and knew that i needed something good in my week, and so it urged and pushed me into the office today so that i could reap the rewards of my good fortune in the form of a caprese salad with mozarella made that morning and the juiciest organic chicken that you have to own a restaurant and have shipped in from los angeles to get it. (i asked. i also told the owner to tell me if that ever changes.) you know?
thanks universe.
thanks italics button.
i did jet out of the office 30 minutes early like i do every thursday: swim lessons. tip alert: we're rolling into fall, and if you come take swim lessons with us on thursday nites we can visit. or you can just share my bench with me and we can carry on conversations/business with 7-9 people at one time via texting. sort of like "parallel play" for adults. ok, here's the tip: private lessons are $50/30minutes. but in the fall winter, the classes thin out so much that you can pay the group lesson price, and most likely have a private lesson. or maybe 1 other kid.
swim documentation:
levi working on 'freestyle' and perfecting 'backstroke'
gracie is working on feeling comfortable in the water, and being 8parts chubby cuteness/2parts bossy: "teeeeeaaaaacherrrr he/she is splashing too much!" **(heidi, double click that bottom pic of her - LOVE the tongue!)
i don't know what other 1 year olds think when they come to swim lessons with their siblings, but my daughter starts kicking her legs, squealing and motioning with both of her hands 'give it to me' from the minute she smells the chlorine from the parking lot. a sucker. guaranteed at least 22 minutes of silence for a bad mom who...hasn't gotten around....to getting her signed up for swim. something about a 'parent-assisted' rule for under 2....there's not enough italics in the universe to get me in a swimsuit:
